How does payment work?
We charge your card within 24 hours before your scheduled delivery (typically the night before or morning of). After delivery, we reconcile the actual gallons delivered. If you received less than charged, we refund the difference. If you received more, we charge the additional amount. Your payment method stays securely on file for easy future orders.
When will I be charged?
Initial charge happens within 24 hours before delivery—either the night before or morning of your scheduled delivery. Final reconciliation (refunds or additional charges) is processed the same evening after delivery is complete, typically within 24 hours.
Do you store my credit card information?
We securely store your payment method for future orders, but we never store your full credit card number. Payment details are encrypted and stored by our PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. This allows you to place future orders quickly without re-entering your card information every time.
What if I need to update my payment method?
Call us at 860-673-8367 or email orders@tudorenergyct.com and we'll update your payment information for future orders.
What is your delivery window?
Same-day and next-day delivery options are available when capacity allows, subject to route scheduling, weather conditions, and demand. We confirm your delivery window after reviewing your order and current schedule. Emergency same-day delivery may incur an additional surcharge.
Is there a minimum order?
Yes. Our minimum delivery is 100 gallons. Orders under 100 gallons may incur a small-order fee.
What are your business hours?
Monday through Saturday, 8 AM to 6 PM. We're closed Sundays, but we answer emergency calls. Call 860-673-8367 anytime for urgent heating needs.
Which towns do you serve?
Avon, Barkhamsted, Bloomfield, Bristol, Burlington, Canton, Canton Center, Collinsville, East Hartland, Farmington, Granby, Harwinton, New Hartford, North Canton, North Granby, Pine Meadow, Riverton, Simsbury, Tariffville, Torrington, Unionville, Weatogue, West Granby, West Hartland, West Simsbury and surrounding areas in Hartford and Litchfield Counties.
What if it snows before my delivery?
You are responsible for clearing a safe path to your fill pipe. Please shovel snow and remove ice before the driver arrives. If the path is unsafe, our driver cannot deliver and a trip fee may apply. Driver safety is our priority—all deliveries are weather-dependent.
Can I cancel my order?
Yes, you can cancel before we charge your card with no penalty. If you cancel after we've charged but before dispatch, we'll refund you (minus any processing fees). Once the driver is dispatched, cancellations are not permitted and a trip fee applies.
What kind of fuel do you deliver?
We deliver heating oil with B10 (10% biodiesel) or B20 (20% biodiesel) blends, in compliance with Connecticut and federal regulations. Both blends meet ASTM standards and work in standard residential heating systems.
Can prices change between when I order and when you deliver?
Yes. Heating oil prices fluctuate based on market conditions. Prices are not locked when you place your order—they are locked when we dispatch your delivery. The final price is based on the price in effect at the time of delivery.
How do I know how much my tank can hold?
Common residential tank sizes are 275 gallons, 330 gallons, and 550 gallons (though sizes vary). Check for a label on your tank or measure it: a 275-gallon tank is typically about 60" long. When ordering a "fill," we deliver about 75% of your tank's total capacity to allow for expansion and safe fill levels.
What if my tank takes more or less than I ordered?
No problem. We charge you based on actual gallons delivered. If your tank held less than expected, we refund the difference. If it held more, we charge for the additional gallons. You're only charged for what you actually receive.
Do you offer automatic delivery?
Yes! We monitor your usage and schedule deliveries automatically so you never run out. It's optional—you can select it when placing your first order or call us to enroll anytime. Your stored payment method is charged for each automatic delivery.
Can you prime and start my burner?
Yes, we offer burner priming and start service on request. An additional fee may apply. Let us know when you place your order if you need this service.
Are you licensed and insured?
Absolutely. We're a fully licensed Connecticut Heating Oil Dealer (License #1371) and carry comprehensive liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage for your protection.
